Donate

Public donations are the foundation of our ability to operate and we could not exist without the generous contributions from individuals, groups and companies. All donations regardless of size go into the direct running cost of the Cairngorm MRT.

The running of Cairngorm MRT is overseen by a Board of Directors which is made up entirely from our volunteer team members. The Board oversees the general running of the team and ensures that all donations are used appropriately to further our aims of helping those who are lost or injured in the mountains.

It costs, on average £85,000 per annum to run Cairngorm MRT and we receive funding from various sources:

  • Scottish Government Grant (which equates to approximately 20% of running costs)
  • Police Scotland Grant (which equates to approximately 8% of running costs)
  • Donations, bequests and fundraising activities (all other running costs)

How to donate to Mountain Rescue
